STREET TEAM INFORMATION (Session: Feb. 1st – April 31st)

 

If you are reading this, you are interested in, curious about or applying for Urban Rocks Gym’s Street Team. No matter which of these categories you fall under, this cover sheet will explain the following regarding the Street Team: eligibility requirements, Street Team benefits, volunteer requirements and ambassadorship requirements.

 

STREET TEAM ELIGIBILITY:

-        Applicant must be at least 16 years of age by start of the S.T. Session

-        Applicants must be currently enrolled in High School, a College or a University

-        Willingness and competence to work with children

-        Willingness to follow all guidelines set out by U.R.G. for the Street Team

 

STREET TEAM BENEFITS:

-        Street Team Membership to Urban Rocks for the duration of the session

-        Street Team T-shirt [not applicable for first session]

-        Completion of volunteer hours towards your graduation requirements

The Street Team will have 3 – three month long sessions per year. The Street Team revolves around two components: (1) Volunteer Program and (2) Urban Rocks Gym Ambassadorship. Both of these components must be fulfilled to retain Street Team membership status for any given session. 

 

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

-        8 hours of volunteering for Urban Rocks Gym per month

o   Requirement can be met by volunteer work during various climbing activities, such as: after school/summer camp programs, Chattanooga Market, Gym Maintenance, Groups or Birthday parties as scheduled

-        Participation in at least one Urban Rocks Gym event

-        1 Trail Day per session or other approved community volunteer event [when applicable]

 

AMBASSADORSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

 

-        Street Team members must possess a positive attitude towards the sport of rock climbing, both inside the gym and at the crags

-        When climbing outside, Street Team members will uphold respect for the outdoors, sensitive access issues and Leave No Trace guidelines

-        Social networking: If you are a member of Facebook, you will invite friends and family members to any event hosted by URG during your Street Team session

-        After induction and training, members must hold knowledge of all services offered by Urban Rocks, included but not limited to: day rates, packages, memberships, business hours, after school programs, summer camps, birthdays, group rates, lock-ins, discounted climb times, etc.

-        Promote by word of mouth these services to friends, family and acquaintances when appropriate.
