Halloween Party a.k.a. Boulderave!
Urban Rocks Climbing Gym is hosting the first annual BouldeRave - a Halloween event with activities for climbers and non-climbers alike. This will be the first chance for the entire community to try out cosmic climbing free. Cosmic climbing is similar to late-night cosmic bowling: a vivid light show accompanied by high-energy music, all while climbing on the neon holds. Aside from the climbing, the event will feature a climbing gear demo, raffle prizes, two open competitions, a costume contest, various climbing games and an after-party sponsored by the Terminal Brewhouse.
Rock/Creek has brought Evolv, Five Ten, Friksn and Metolius together to display the latest climbing gear on the market. Shoe companies, Evolv and Five Ten will bring a large collection of climbing shoes for event participants to try free-of-charge.
Urban Rocks Gym and Rock/Creek are committed to the health of the Chattanooga community. This event provides a fun and active experience for the community while raising awareness and funds to solve our community's hunger issues. Thanks to generous local sponsors, Urban Rocks and Rock/Creek will raffle off prizes throughout the event. One hundred percent of raffle ticket proceeds will be donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. In an effort to encourage the community to get involved with the food bank, five canned goods will be exchanged for one raffle ticket (up to 3 tickets).
The event will take place on Friday, October 22 from 6 - 11 pm at Urban Rocks Gym - located off Amnicola Highway (five minutes from downtown Chattanooga). The cosmic climbing will occur all night, while the gear demo will end at 9 pm. The optional speed climbing competition and dyno competition will take place around 7 pm and 8 pm, respectively.
Local eatery, Good dog, will be on-site for the event to cater to hungry participants. Good Dog will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Local sponsors Rock/Creek, Insane Paintball, Montlake Golf Course, North Shore Yoga, Blue Orleans Creole Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, Good Dog, Lupi's Pizza Pies, Holiday Bowl, Stone Cup Coffee House and Sweet Peppers Deli have all donated raffle prizes to support the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
